Michael has moved into his own room in the NICU now and seems to be adjusting very well. He has started receiving "Momma's Finest," the gold standard in baby nutrition. They started him out with only 3cc and were watching to make sure he digested it well and that there were no obstructions in his intestines with the omphalocele. He is now getting 12 cc of milk and we got to change two dirty diapers yesterday.

I bet you never thought you would be excited to change a dirty diaper, did you? God has a way of making everything a blessing, doesn't He!
Just to say that we are praying for Michael Z here in Texas. God Bless this tiny little boy.
It blesses me to see both of you caring for your sweet Michael. I am praying for all of you as you share your time at home with your other children and get as much time with Michael as you can. Asking God to give you strength for each new day. How great for him to be getting momma's milk and handling it so well. Michael amazes me and I pray for his fighting spirit to show us all Gods plan for his life. God bless you as you wait on Him for everything.
Love and Hugs, Laurie
Glad to hear how well Michael is doing.
Parker (age 9)and I just got home and he asked me right away if I could check on Michael. He was very happy to read about him. We are praying for Michael Z and you all.
Have a blessed night and thanks for the updates.
Shane, this is Alison again. If I can make any trips to Rome for you, please let me know. Alison

Hey there Little Michael Z
It's your 2 week celebration you see
You are fighting against all odds
But we have a power stronger and His name is God
You are here for a reason there is no doubt
You've got God in your corner He's got real clout
I love looking at your beautiful face
It truly reminds me of God's amazing grace
You are such a special little man
I'm so glad we've met through blogland
I will do all I can to raise awareness everywhere I go
So people can learn about Trisomy, so they will know
That you are no different then the baby they carried in their womb
That you are compatible with life and shouldn't be condemned to a tomb.
Little Michael Z you are teaching me so much
You are teaching me the gift of life and how to stay in touch
with the fact that life is short, each day a gift
You encourage me to love to the fullest and to uplift
God and others before anything I do
Thank you for reminding me of this through and through.
So happy 2 week birthday little Michael Z
you are a special little man yes indeed.
Love ya kid,
Melissa
